The main self extracting zip file. Save this to your hard drive (C:\temp or wherever). Then locate and double click it to install SynthEdit.
  If the link gives a screenful of letters, come back, try right-click, Save As..

For older versions of Windows
 
Windows Installer for Win98
Download and install this one time only (Win 98 & Win ME users).
 
Optional: gdiplus.dll
Allows better graphics quality. (Windows XP users don't need this).
