If you suffer from acid reflux you can help alleviate the symptoms and pain by watching what you eat. Eating foods that are high in acidic content will greatly increase the amount of pain you feel from this condition. Try to avoid eating foods like tomatoes, corn, canned fruits, or any other of the thousands of foods that are high in acidic content.
Eat small meals frequently, instead of indulging in larger ones. If you often find yourself eating just one or two large meals per day, this can actually increase your risk of acid reflux. When you eat to much it puts pressure on your sphincter; this in turn causes it to open. The excess stomach acids will enter the esophagus, and the result will be heartburn. Small meals will prevent this cause of your symptoms.
